News Release:

Equine Desensitizing Clinic

   The Collin County Extension Horse Committee will be hosting an “Equine Desensitizing Clinic” on Saturday, May 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Highway 500 Arena near the Valdosta Community located between McKinney and Blue Ridge. The clinic will be presented by John Wiltsie and John Jones (McKinney Mounted Police Department) and they will be assisted by other members of the McKinney Mounted Police Department.

   You may bring your horse to the clinic at a cost of $20 per participant which will be limited to the first 30 call in participants or you may choose to just watch the presentation at a cost of $5 per spectator. If you are one of the 30 participating on horseback, you must have a current negative Coggins test.

   You can RSVP by calling the Collin County Extension office at (972) 548-4233 on or before Thursday, May 8th. You can pay the registration fee at the Extension office before the clinic or at the door on the day of the clinic. Checks will be accepted made payable to Collin Ag Support Fund.

Directions to Highway 500 Arena

Approaching from Highway 121 from the West, turn right on FM 545 in Melissa, stay on 545 to Valdosta then turn right on 500. Stay on 500 for approximately 3 miles, the arena will be on the left

Approaching from Highway 121 from the East, turn left on FM 545 then follow the same directions as above.
