From Police Chief Jason Rector:
Here are the winning announcements for the City of Lavon's first annual National Night Out.
First I would like to commend all neighborhoods for their dedication to this program. I thought every neighborhood did a wonderful job and I really appreciate everyone's hospitality, the food was great.
The winning neighborhood was based on three criteria - decoration, participation and activities. This was a very difficult decision because all of the neighborhoods did such a great job and put so much time and effort into it. I truly hope that next year is as good as this one.
The Winner of the Best Neighborhood is
Bently Farms
Congratulations to Tracey Wolf, Evelyn Webb, Laura Navas, and Chris Kane and the entire neighborhood. You have alot of work to do if you are planning to out do yourselves next year.
Now to the Best Ice Cream Award.
I can honestly say that I have never eaten so much ice cream in one day. I can also honestly say that I've never met a bowl of ice cream that I didn't like. I appreciate everyone's participation in this.
The Winner of the Best Ice Cream Award goes to...
James Lafavers of 409 Main St.
James, I hope you patent that stuff and sell it in stores.
Thanks again and I truly hope everyone had as good a time as we did.
God Bless,
Jason E. Rector
