Town Hall Meeting
« on: November 16, 2009, 07:44:44 PM »
Just a quick rant about the upcoming City Council Meeting.  If you are in Bently Farms and do not want traffic signs and speed bumps scattered all over the subdivision, you better show up and voice your opinions.  There is a big push to get all these things installed, maybe in your font yard, with tax payer money of course, over one single incident that had nothing to do with speeding through the neighborhood.  I'll just leave it at that.

Speed bumps, there isn't even a main road going through the subdivision is there? I can see if there there was a main road going through the subdivision where everyone cuts through and causes a lot of traffic. If speeding is an issue, that that is an issue the city needs to deal with and patrol more and give out tickets to the offenders. I get the fact that maybe something happened, but is it realistic to put in speed bumps in every neighborhood? I can say that I've actually seen a few neighborhoods install speed bumps, only to have them removed a year later because of all the complaints. I'm not sure speed bumps are the answer. Catch the people causing the problem. Just my two cents. They need to take the asphalt they would use to make the speed bumps and perform better road repairs with it :-)

Yeah, please someone report on the outcome.  Unfortunately I have to work that night, but from the posts I have seen on other sights and people actually putting fliers on doors, I am thinking they may actually have a few people at this meeting.
