I figured someone would make the comparison :-) Granted they probably have a bit more money. The problem with Rockwall is that they do not have much room to expand the roads. Lavon on the other hand has room, just no resources, for various reasons.

I just think it is "funny" that Lavon put a stoplight, houses and stores on the 78 Bypass...  I thought the point to putting the big bridge with room to expand around it would be so there are not houses, crossing traffic and stores in the way in the future as 78 grows, and there is not a traffic bottleneck or crossing traffic at the town... 
 
If from the start 78 bypass was a divided highway with exit ramps on either side of the bridge, I think people would be safer and in the long run traffic would be faster... not to mention future potential right-of-way heartaches...
