Babysitting rates

Just curious as to the 'going rate' of babysitters in our area.  Does anyone have any knowledge of what is being charged for babysitting?  Thanks.

We pay $10/hr to a neighborhood girl.  Not sure how that compares, though...

Thanks Tex.  That gives me a starting point. Gee what an increase from my days of sitting. 

Anyone else familar with babysitting rates?

I should also have mentioned we have more than one child and oftentimes have friends' kids over if all the parents go out together.
