Lake Road

(1/2) > >>

Tex:
As if it couldn't get any worse, this road has deteriorated to the point that dodging massive potholes while respecting oncoming traffic has become increasingly difficult.  FIX THIS ROAD!!!  And stop patching it with asphalt.  It needs a complete resurfacing. Use the machine we bought and just do your job.......

Well, I guess a half hearted "thank you" is in order for at least patching SOME of the holes on this third world road.  Sure makes me think twice about supporting local businesses with my tax dollars.....

From the City of Lavon Newsletter May 2009;

"For those who have not heard, we received notification from the county that they will help us with repairing Lake Road.
They are finishing up a project that has been somewhat delayed due to all the rain and as soon as that is finished, we are
next on the list. They estimate a start date within the next one to five weeks!"

Anyone notice how "repairing" Lake Road is italicized?  What do you reckon that means?  More of the same ol' garbage???

The Admin:
The entire road needs replaced, versus 'repaired', whatever that implies. It'll be interesting to see what is done to fix it. The road has been patched too many times. Every time it rains, it just gets worse!

Okay...  Lavon newsletter May 2009 stated that Lake road was "next on the list" for repairs in "one to five weeks".

Being the forgiving type, I'll start at May 31st and go with the extreme of "five weeks".  That'd be the first week of July.  Have you driven on Lake road lately?  It's a friggin joke!  It's the worst I've seen it, and that's saying quite a bit given how boad this road is.  Fixing this road was one of the talking points of Mayor Martin's re-election stump.  WHEN WILL WE SEE THIS HAPPEN???  It's needs replacing!  No more patches!  Do what you promised!
