Wylie National Guard Deployment
« on: July 23, 2008, 11:54:17 AM »
The Wylie National Guard is deploying next Monday July 28th. I don't know what their orders are, where they are going or for how long but I do know they and their families deserve our support. I don't want to get on a soapbox but for those who are interested here is the 'expected' schedule.  They should be coming out 78 from Wylie and turning South on 205 at approximately 7:45 or shortly there after.

I hope to see fellow citizens showing their support. Please come out. I'd love to see the corner of 78 and 205 loaded with people.

"The plans for Monday as as follows:

The soldiers will be loading the buses between 7:00 - 7:30am with the intended departure time to be 7:30am.  At that point they will head down 78 towards Ballard St.  They will make a right onto Ballard St. and proceed down to Brown St.  The buses will make a right onto Brown St. and head
back towards Hwy 78.  The buses will make a left back onto Hwy 78 and head towards Levon.  The intended path they will take will be to turn down Hwy 205 towards Rockwall. (This is basically with hopes that citizens of Wylie will come out along the street to wave and give a great send off to our guys.)

We are assuming that the buses should be coming across the trinity river bottoms approx. 7:45am."

Don't take this wrong, but how reliable is this information?  I would like to pass this info on to our church in Wylie, but don't want to get burned by sending a lot of people out there for nothing.  Going to try and have myself and my daughter out at Big Daddy's!

I understand your concern.  It is early in the morning to be sitting out there on the side of the road for nothing.  I got the information from our City Marshall.  I personally feel confident of the information at this time.  Now being the military the schedule might change but I will update the info here if it does.
